RÉSUMÉ DU PROJET

UPSCALE aims to improve health outcomes for pregnant women with Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) in Angola through tailored ultrasound training and predictive modelling using AI based on ultrasound, biological, clinical, and genetic data. Key activities include ultrasound training for healthcare professionals, a prospective cohort study at Lucrécia Paim Maternity Hospital, biological and genetic analyses and advanced analytical explorations for better disease prediction and genotype-phenotype understanding. Anticipated outcomes encompass enhanced early SCD complication detection, reduced maternal and fetal adversities, fostered international healthcare collaboration, and technological advancements combining ultrasound imaging and laboratorial data with AI for more efficient clinical decision-making. Through UPSCALE, a safer pregnancy journey for women with SCD in Angola and broader is envisioned.
