« SPRALT » Program effects on health conditions in individuals with chronic spinal cord injury

MASSET Jennifer (HESAV)

Résumé du projet

Although current therapies and medication remain essential to improve lesion-related comorbidities in individuals with spinal cord injury (SCI), post-discharge services like activity-based therapy are needed to enhance body maintenance and functional skills recovery in people with SCI. Since 2017, the Swiss Recovery Center (SRC) has developed the SPRALT (Suivi Post-Réhabilitation A Long Terme) program dedicated to people with SCI. The methodology is based on intense but safe sensorimotorbased and individualized exercises inspired from rehabilitation centers worldwide. The current literature on activity-based therapy reports benefits on biopsychosocial health outcomes including functional capacities, physical and mental well-being and social participation. However, additional evidence of the positive impact of these programs are required.
